TST 3v3 and 2v2 Rules

  • Always finish a TST session with a SSG game
    • This may be a 2v2 or 3v3 depending on the numbers
  • Try to keep the coaching to a minimum as much as possible during these games.
    • Coach on the run if necessary.
    • But make sure you are engaged in the games and 'commentate enthusiastically to build energy and atmosphere in the games. the players love it..
  • Keep the physicality in the game to a minimum too (Call fouls even if borderline etc)

 

Basic Rules

The one pass rule: A teams needs at least one (definite) pass to score, Thsi starts after every definite touch from the opposition
The half way line rule : A team cant score from their own half
The clever lifting rule : A player can lift ball only if it is a clever scoop otherwise ball must stay low

If the ball is lifted it must be brought back to the ground immediately. If not the team that lifted it first looses possession.

The bring it in rule : If ball goes out then the team getting possession can run it or pass it in
The little it out rule : If ball goes a 'little bit out (fraction of a second, and one touch to get it back in then it remains in
The own goal rule :Own goals don't count as goals (attacking team gets the ball back though as a goal kick)
The Deflections rule: Deflections count as a goal
The forcing rule :If a shot is blocked by a defender and goes out, it is the defenders ball

3v3 games


Additional rules (use if required)

  • First time finish rule applies if a team is winning by 2 clear goals (can be played at all levels)
  • More advanced players play first time finish from the outset BUT can score from anywhere
  • Use cones inside the goals as a goal keeper. The shot must miss the cone. Advanced players.
  • Use a middle cone as a third goal to stop goal keeping
  • Swap all goals for cones


Other more advanced rules


Pressure rule – if a player in possession is tackle and the ball goes out the tackler gets possession
Interception rule – if a pass is intercepted and goes out the interceptor gets possession
