II P IO fwd T SwVi DD P+P (with pressure)

3 player footwork drill with 'passive pressure' to help create context for footwork ;

Also add in 'passes' to promote the idea that footwork leads to a pass

This is useful as advanced players can swap different footwork patterns (that achieve the same directional requirements) in and out of the exercise.

This is useful just get the touches right. It ignores the steps - which are also important. So as players advance can they try to only take steps they need. Why take 3 steps if 1 will do the job.

This is useful to help identify the  patterns that are used in the exercise in the video.

Every Touch  - Every step

In terms of steps and touches.jpg

In my opinion the above is way too complicated. If a player can't naturally do the above, without having to study every touch and every step, they should instead be working on either single patterns still (drag back U etc) or simpler combinations.  The above is the answer, and would come naturally to an advanced player (without any practice). To focus too closely on the answer, just to be able to do this exercise, before attempting the question would be a mistake. It would be a bit like learning to play Stairway to heaven on the guitar without having any of the underlying fundamentals in place. You might learn how to play stair way to heaven, but it doesn't mean you can play the guitar.
