Develop Dragging footwork patterns in Young players
Maybe first develop a drag turn using a ball moving square – make sure a player can drag the ball
Develop the ideas of turn away from pressure and towards space
Develop the idea of protecting the ball when doing a drag turn
The Fundamental dragging patterns may be too hard for young players to do initially, so an interim step might be to practice dragging as ball mastery exercises.
Straight line Dragging Patterns
Players drag the ball backwards from point A to point B
No cones; Nothing that places time and space constraints on a players touch and movement.
Start simple and build, until eventually, players are doing the straight line dragging patterns;
