Holiday session Format

Typical notes following the first session session :

Following on from today's session the rest of the session's should be a lot easier.

The feedback i got was ;

1. Juggling is a good warm up (but still make it fun and challenging and a game if possible)
2. Isolate weak foot technique...as players never do it otherwise
3. Play the through the gate game using weak foot passes or weak foot strikes only - the feed back was that this maybe went for too long today :
4 : Adv players might incorporate footwork and different passing techs....but only if it doesn't take too much time to explain ..
5. Pong always goes down well (but note the focus is on the strike being accurate - and the rules develop from there)

This should get us to about 1/2 the session;
Take a big break now.

  • Footwork -> I liked Max's set up some cones to do a drag back U's around .... this seem to contain the players a little bit...happy for 'intro;practice:race:move on ' process
  • 1v1s and 3v3s seemed to go really quick....
  • ..,would love there to be time for 1v1s, 2v2s, 3v3s.....but not sure how to manage this

Toilet rules

Very young p1ayers - never leave the group unless their parent is there to take them. Coaches have to take all kids to the toilet together. Either all go or non go.

U9-U11 players - can go in groups but must be accompanied by an adult if possible. If  no adult is present all players must stay together. Non-one gets left straggling behind.

U13s/U12s- can go in pairs unaccompanied by an adult. They must stay together.

DC will try to be free to deal with toilets breaks and first aid.
